Imagine a snowy winter day as an opportunity to strengthen the bond with your
dog: a way to enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise and learn to work as a
team. GMDM feels strongly about the human-canine bond. We know that
in order to earn our dogs' trust we must love, appreciate and respect them as
equal members on our team.
GMDM welcomes anyone who loves dogs, and perhaps is interested in mushing or
skijoring.
The Green Mountain Distance Mushers hold meetings as needed throughout
the year except for a summer break in June and July. Meetings frequently
include a pot luck dinner which provide a
great time to get to know club members, swap dog stories and discuss topics from
gear and training techniques, to plans for fun outings or training runs.
All members in good standing receive club minutes by mail or email after each
meeting, which include a calendar of club and local
events.
